Designed for exploration, the new Moncler x adidas Originals collection finds inspiration in a journey from the summit to the city. Moncler’s mountain birthplace meets the metropolitan base of adidas Originals as a selection of forward-thinking designs advance the notion that function creates unlimited potential for discovery.
The campaign, titled The Art of Explorers, turns its attention to explorers themselves. Beginning with AI-generated explorers styled in looks inspired by the collection, a selection of imagery and video then spotlights mixed-media sculptures of explorers created by artists Gary Card, Ibby Njoya, and Kate Tabor, all brought to life by photographer Hanna Moon. Offering nods to both brands, the campaign tagline Where Originality Meets Extraordinary speaks to Moncler’s positioning as a longstanding performance and utility innovator and adidas Originals’ enduring legacy as a champion of culture and creativity, spreading influence from an epicenter peak, to cities around the world.
A new immersive platform on moncler.com takes users on a digital journey, reflecting design themes from the collection's summit-to-city inspiration. This platform reveals exclusive products and details, and evokes the bustling metropolis seen in The Art of Genius exhibition at London Fashion Week. The platform also hosts an NFT of the Moncler x adidas Originals NMD boot, bringing the silhouette to life in the digital world.
The collection draws inspiration from an intrepid journey from mountaintops to city streets, and features a range of down jackets, both long and short, as well as track jackets and vests that beautifully blend the identities of Moncler and adidas Originals. Moncler's iconic lacquered nylon shapes are reinvented with signature adidas Originals details. The color palette is an homage to both the metropolis and nature, moving between traffic light oranges and reds and organic greens and sky blues. Designs incorporate curvy quilts and shapes inspired by the intricate patterns left by skiers on snowy slopes.
This being adidas Originals and Moncler, footwear is a solid focus. The "Moncler-ized" NMD has been made winter-ready with a revamped GORE-TEX upper and bubble cushioning for added comfort and style. The iconic Campus has also received the bubble cushioning treatment, reflecting the fusion of outdoor life in the mountains and city streets.
