Longtime Moncler collaborator Rick Owens grew up in Porterville, a small town in California’s San Joaquin Valley. Drawn to pre-gentrified Hollywood and LA's punk underground in the 80s, Owens studied painting at what is now Otis College of Art and Design and later, pattern-making and draping at an LA technical trade college. Owens launched his eponymous line with partner Michele Lamy in 1994, founding independently owned label OWENSCORP 10 years later. Diffusion collections complementing the original label include RICKOWENSLILIES and DRKSHDW.
