An atmospheric environment housed an all-weather steel sanctuary: the Rick Owens mountain ‘Refuge’. The low-consumption, off-grid shelter stands isolated, shrouded by graphic light, smoke, and fog.
The collection proposes a subversively sophisticated fusion of brand codes, leaning into signature radiance quilting on oversized puffers and flight jackets, sweeping robes, and showstopping capes in sleek textures of black, dust, and white.
The quintessential aesthete, renowned for his subculture-infused vision, with sophisticated subversion at its core.
Longtime Moncler collaborator Rick Owens grew up in Porterville, a small town in California’s San Joaquin Valley. Drawn to pre-gentrified Hollywood and LA's punk underground in the 80s, Owens studied painting at what is now Otis College of Art and Design and later, pattern-making and draping at an LA technical trade college. Owens launched his eponymous line with partner Michele Lamy in 1994, founding independently owned label OWENSCORP 10 years later. Diffusion collections complementing the original label include RICKOWENSLILIES and DRKSHDW.
